  • Who Should Apply:
    • Medium-scale food businesses
    • Hotels, restaurants, and canteens
    • Dairy units (handling up to 50,000 liters of milk per day)
    • Storage units (with a capacity between 50,000 to 2 lakh metric tons)
    • State-wide distributors
  • Application Process: The application is submitted to the state government authority, and the license is issued after verification.
Documents Required for State FSSAI License:
  1. Passport-sized photograph of the applicant
  2. Identity proof (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, PAN Card, etc.)
  3. Address proof (Utility bill, rent agreement, etc.)
  4. Business registration proof (Partnership deed, certificate of incorporation, etc.)
  5. List of Directors/Partners/Proprietor with address and contact details
  6. Proof of possession of premises (Rent agreement, sale deed, etc.)

Central FSSAI License

  • Eligibility: This license is for large-scale food businesses with an annual turnover of over ₹20 crores, or those involved in food export/import, or operating in multiple states.
  • Who Should Apply:
    • Food importers and exporters
    • Large manufacturers and processors
    • Operators managing businesses in multiple states
    • Central government agencies
    • Dairy units (handling more than 50,000 liters of milk per day)
    • Storage units (with a capacity of more than 2 lakh metric tons)
  • Application Process: The application is submitted to the central FSSAI authority, and the license is granted after a detailed review.

  2. Identity proof (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, PAN Card, etc.)
